Begin

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.”

My family is considered snowbirds and head to Florida every winter! I’m amazed at how much planning is required ahead of time and not just logistics of where to stay and how to get there. No, it’s much more than that! Strategically thinking about all the things needed to be done to winterize the house, packing (but not too early lest you pack something you still need to use), and thinking ahead to anticipate what you’ll need in your home away from home that maybe you don’t use right now. However overwhelming or daunting that planning may appear, it is absolutely necessary and part of the most important work!

We are excited to share some of the behind the scenes work that has been going on in Treasure Hunt. We are making upgrades to the server stack and technology that is used to run the website. This will increase the speed of loading for all of our viewers.

A huge project that has required much time and thought has been building a way to submit classifieds online. This was the first domino needed in order for you to begin creating accounts, and this will easily transition to the new layout in January!

Our main goal right now is to make sure that we can still support what exists but also start preparing for and building what we will have next year. The steps we are taking right now will have a lasting impact and it is the most important work!

Some encouragement for your day

Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” I heard a quote recently that when you get bumped what spills out is what you’re holding in your cup.

I love this verse, because if I’m filled with joy and peace from the Father, hope overflows! And it doesn’t overflow because I’m such a fantastic person or am always gracious when someone runs in to me. No way! It’s the power of the Holy Spirit who enables that as we trust in him. So when you get bumped let Hope be what spills out.
